celebrities and media

Every one of us has their own little things that they would enjoy keeping from the rest of the world and the public. Especially famous people, they have the right to keep their own lives as privet as ours. Media has interfered in famous people’s lives in each smallest thing. Some people say that the media should have a certain limitations and the others say that they should keep telling the public about everything in the celebrities’ lives.

Some knick-knacks people want to know about the smallest things in celebrities’ lives. They say that they have the right to know about their celebrities and the people whom they admire. They want to see the celebrities in their real life without acting. Another reason is that people look p to them. Fans consider the famous people as a role model for them. Yet another reason is the fame. Some people think that the celebrities want those particular jobs to make themselves famous and to let people know about them, but the public wants to be part of each day and they want to live the celebrities’ lives.

Yet some people don’t like to know each thing in their celebrities’ lives even if they are fans and love them. One reason that people think media should not interfere with celebrities’ lives is the privacy. Decent people respect others privacy and as they love that they lives are as privet as possible they wish the same for the famous people. Another reason is that they should respect people’s personal life. Some paparazzi don’t respect the famous people lives and they want to get each smallest information about their life to write it in their newspapers and magazines to share it with the public the paparazzi do that for money. A great example is what happened with princess Diana and her boyfriend when some of the paparazzi caused the tragedic accident. Yet another reason is the gossip. When the journalists don’t record an interview they make things up and they say thongs that the celebrities did not say just to make their articles more exciting and sellable for the public.

In conclusion, I think that every one has the right to live their personal life in peace away from the annoying people whom they want to know everything in our lives. In addition, the media should respect people’s privacies.

Corporal punishment

Many parents use corporal punishment to discipline their children. Many people are against parents using corporal punishment to discipline their children. I will discuss the arguments for and against this topic.

Many people agree with the parents who use corporal punishment to make their children well behaved. One reason is that they think if they punished their children they will not do any mistakes. For example, they think if they punish their children for not doing their homework, they will never forget to do it because they have been punished. Another reason that the parents think that children cannot understand. They think if they set with their children and talk they are going to do what they did again, but to make the children understand, they have to punish them. Yet another reason is that the parents use it to calm down themselves. After a hard day of working, parents put all of their anger on their children because they cannot talk or complain.

On the other hand, there are people who don’t agree with using corporal punishment to discipline their children. One reason is that the parents care about their health and their mental situation. Some people believe that punishing their children is going to affect their children mentally. Another reason is that parents prefer to talk rather than punish. Fr example, if your child does something wrong you have to sit with him and explain the mistakes and ask him to do the right thing. Yet another reason, parents think that by hitting their children they going to teach their children to be violent. Children just do what they see from their families.

To sum up, all governments should forbid all the parents from beating their children and treat them well. Using punishment to discipline children has a few positive points, but a lot of negative effects.

Life in the UAE

Every country’s lifestyle has changed. One big change has happened in the UAE since the discovery of the oil. If you take a good look at some pictures of the UAE before and after the oil, you will notice the revolutionary changes that happened and how it changes many people lives. Some people agree that the life in the UAE was much better before the discovery of oil and the others disagree.

In the past the life was better than it is today. One reason to clarify this point of view is simplicity. In the past, life was much less stressful, easy living and although the jobs were very difficult and dangerous, they were simple. Another reason is the social life. People used to know every one in the neighborhood and they visited each other on the different occasions. Yet another reason that some people think that the life was better than it is today is the culture. In the past there was not many cultures mixed together in the UAE, although there were people from outside of the country, but now the UAE has become one of the many mixed global cultural villages all around the world.

Some people don’t agree that the life was better than it is today. One reason is the new revolutionary technologies. The new inventions make our lives easier by the time it’s developing. Another reason is transportation. People in the past used to move from place to another by camels, horses, old slow cars and even donkeys and it took them a long time to travel, but today the ways of transportation vary. We have the fastest and comfortable ways of transportations, such as airplanes, cars, huge ships and the fastest trains. Yet another reason is the social life. In the past when someone traveled to a far place they could not contact him, instead they had to wait until he came back, but now, by the new development in the communication sector, we can reach and contact with anyone we want any time and wherever he is.

To sum up, life in the past was simple and beautiful, but the life now it much easier. I cannot think how did the people in the past survive the harsh life they used to live. I think the life now even with pressures on us it much better than the life before.

Emiratis should pay for their tertiary education.

Many high education institutes in the UAE are free because the government pays all the fees for the pupils. Many people agree that the government has to pay for the education. On the other hand, many people disagree with the same situation. This essay will examine the arguments for and against Emiratis should pay for their tertiary education.

There are many reasons that the Emiratis should pay for their tertiary education. First of all, responsibility. If the Emiratis pay for their education they will be more aware of its importance and they will appreciate the education more. Another reason that the Emiratis should pay is that to give the chance for other people. Some people who want to be educated cannot find an available seat for them because there are too many students. Yet another reason is to save the books and the public units. The students who have free education just through the books by the end of the year and they are less care toward the public units inside the learning institute.

There are many arguments against that the Emiratis should pay for their tertiary education. One important reason is that the education is the right for everybody and that way it should be free. Because if they have to pay there will be less students and why it should be free because it changes the people thought about everything and makes him a new person. Another reason is that education is an important thing that the country must provide it for all its people. It is a way to make most of the people well educated for the country itself, it will gives the country more benefits and thoughts. Yet another reason is to help the poor people. Many people get loans and some doesn’t have enough money to complete their education.

In conclusion, people are strongly divided on the issue of Emiratis should pay for their tertiary education. While some people have valid reasons that the Emiratis should pay for their education to be more responsible and aware of the importance of the education. The other believe firmly that the Emiratis should not pay for their education because it is type of encouragement for all the people and more of the poor people will be educated too. In my opinion, I don’t think that Emiratis should pay for their education because everyone deserves a free high education.

Racism

Racism is to discriminate against people because of their color, religion, sex or culture. Racism is a huge issue in all over the world. This essay will talk about the problems and solutions of racism.

Every one of us is a racist in a way, and that makes the problems vary from one to another. One problem is the hate that is created by being racist. For example, it hinders people from getting jobs and good properties. Another problem is that racism could lead to a war between countries. If the Muslims hate the Jews or any other specific religion that could make the relationship between the Muslim’s countries and the others in a very bad condition. Yet another problem is being sexism. That makes the others feel rejected from people around them and from the society itself.

The solutions are very simple, but it is hard to change peoples mind. One solution is to make our children aware. Parents must teach their children how to behave with others with respect no matter who they are. An additional solution is to educate ourselves. We have to be more open toward the other things in the life and accept it as it is. Yet another solution is to reactivate the media side. Media plays a big role in our lives; it must be a Public Service Announcements to show what does racism destroy the people and separate the countries.

In conclusion, everyone must be aware of this serious problem and try to avoid it. In addition, we all should be one hand no matter where we are from or who we are.

Let me see….

My name is Jumaa Abdullah Mohammed Khoori. I am 20 years old. I am a first year media student in HCT (ADMC).

My life as a child:

I was born in Abu Dhabi, at Al Corniche Hospital. I came to life on 5th August 1988 and it was Friday. My parents decided to name me after that day, i.e. Friday, which is Jumaa in Arabic. I have four brothers and three sisters. My order among my brothers and sisters is the seventh and I am the youngest boy. In addition, I have one stepbrother and four stepsisters who live in Dubai. My father used to work as a supervisor of the guards in Zayed Port and my mother is a housemother. I do not remember much about my childhood, but I do remember is that I used to play in the neighborhood with my two best friends, Abdullah and Bader. We used to play football most of the time. I also remember that I used to go to the beach every Friday with my family where we used to BBQ and have lots of fun. The most unforgettable memory that I can still visualize as if it was just yesterday, is the number of gifts I used to get from my father.

My life as a teenager:

As I grew up things started to change. For example, I had new friends, other than my two best friends Abdulla and Bader. I also had new interests in life as a teenager. My personality started to be shaped to the person I turned to be today.

My trips abroad:

I traveled with my family to Egypt, Cairo in particular, more than 5 times. I also went with some friends to Oman two times as well as Bahrain for shopping with my sister. I would love to travel to European countries, Australia, USA, and other Asian Countries.

My interests:

I have lots of interests and hobbies. Mostly, I am interested in diving (I have an open water diving license), drawing (I learnt how to draw from my brother and sister who I consider them as best teachers for me), swimming, horse riding (I used to ride in the Royal Guards), cooking, making handmade stuff and I also love graphic design (cards, files and gifts…etc).

Something has influenced me:

The major turn in my life was made by a book that my sister has given me. That self-improvement book changed the way I think and it taught me how to deal with the life tricky moments with logic and wisdom. Added to that, I became a bookworm after reading that book.

My favorite books:
• 101 things to do before you die.
• 101 things to do before you’re old and boring.
• 101 things you need to know and some you don’t.
• 101 things you wish you’d invented and some you wish no one had.
• Eat pray love.
• It’s not how good you are, it’s how good you want to be.
• They f*** you up, how to survive family life.
• What not to say.
• Why men can only do one thing at a time and women never stop talking.

In the future:

I would like to be a professional photographer and a graphic designer. I also aim to start my own business in the same field, i.e. photography and graphic design.
